Mother and Child Recovery Houses
Aberlour has recovery houses in Dundee and Falkirk for mothers affected by alcohol or drug use. The houses allow mothers to receive support while staying with their young children.
Support includes individual and group work, help with the effects of trauma, strengthening relationships and parenting support. Teams continue supporting women when they return to their communities.
The houses provide round-the-clock therapeutic and emotional support for residents. This describes the residential service, rather than the hours of a public telephone helpline.
Dundee
The national Dundee service supports up to four women at a time. Children up to the age of five can stay with their mothers.

Access and funding
Contact the recovery house team to discuss eligibility, assessment, referrals and placement arrangements.
In March 2026, Aberlour confirmed continued Scottish Government funding for its Dundee and Falkirk recovery houses. This funds the services; it does not guarantee an individual placement. Ask the team to explain the arrangements for your circumstances.
Other support for families
Aberlour also provides children’s and family services across Scotland. Services differ by area, so use its service finder to check what is available locally.
