Community

You do not have to go through this alone.

This community is here for people affected by someone else’s drinking. You can read quietly, share when you feel ready, or connect with others in a way that feels safe for you.

Please use your chosen alias across all community spaces. You do not need to use your real name.

Choose how you would like to connect

Different people need different kinds of support. You are welcome to take part as much or as little as feels right for you.

Forum

The forum is the main community space. You can ask questions, share your experience, reply to others, or simply read quietly.

This is usually the best place to start if you want support at your own pace.

Live chat

Live chat is planned as a more immediate way to talk when an admin is online. It will still use aliases and will be kept private and carefully managed.

This is not available yet, but it may become an option for people who need a quieter, more direct conversation.

Monthly check-in

In future, there may be a small monthly online check-in for community members. This would be optional and informal.

You would be able to use your alias, keep your camera off, and simply listen if you prefer.

Private support

Sometimes people need to ask something privately before they feel ready to post in the forum. A private contact option may be added carefully in future.

For now, please use the support resources page if you need help outside the community.

Keeping this space safe

This website is for people who may be feeling vulnerable, frightened, confused, or overwhelmed. Confidentiality and respect matter here.

  • Please use the same alias across community spaces.
  • You do not need to use your real name.
  • Please do not share another person’s story outside the community.
  • Be kind, patient, and respectful with others.
  • If something feels unsafe, contact an admin.

Not sure where to begin?

If you are new here, the forum is the best place to start. You can read first and join in only when you feel ready.
