0800 22 44 88Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
This line is for people who are well but have a general question about health or local NHS services. If you feel unwell or need advice about symptoms, contact your GP or NHS 24 on 111.
General information is also available through NHS inform's webchat, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
If you need medical help
Contact your GP about alcohol dependence, withdrawal or treatment. If your GP is closed and you need urgent medical advice that cannot wait, phone NHS 24 on 111.
Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous and can be fatal. If you drink heavily every day, shake or feel ill without alcohol, or have had withdrawal before, do not suddenly stop without medical advice.
For seizures, hallucinations, severe confusion, collapse or serious deterioration, call 999.
Language and accessible contact
NHS inform can arrange a free interpreter for callers. Tell the person answering which language you need. Its contact page also explains how to use Contact Scotland BSL and Relay UK.
