Alcohol and drug support
Turning Point Scotland provides different forms of support in different areas. These include community recovery services and specialist support for people whose alcohol or drug use is linked with other difficulties, including homelessness or justice involvement. Some services need a referral from social work or a health professional.
Ask the relevant team how you can access support, whether it covers your area and what assessment is needed. Opening and appointment arrangements vary by service.
Changes to Glasgow services
In a statement dated 6 August 2026, Turning Point Scotland announced that Glasgow’s Alcohol and Drug Crisis Service would move into Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership management when the current contracts ended. The residential stabilisation service was also under review, with a possible move to a community model.
Check current access arrangements with Turning Point Scotland or Glasgow’s Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services before travelling or arranging a referral. Older directory entries may describe the previous service arrangements.
Turnaround
Turnaround provides residential and community throughcare support addressing alcohol or drug use alongside offending. Current referral information describes support for men aged 18 and over in the justice system, with referrals through justice social work teams.
